Poker has different variants, which include popular Texas hold ’em. The hole cards, two cards, are dealt facing down in every player. Five community cards are dealt with facing up in three stages. A series of three cards are dealt and later on added with a single card and a final card.

The rules and the hands

Playing this game uses hole cards with the community cards, making the best possible best 5-card poker hand. But, the game is not like other poker games like the variant 5-card draw. Texas hold’em is a little different compared to the draw poker. Possibly, the player can bluff and get others to fold better hands.

Each player dealt 2 cards facing down. During several betting rounds, 5 more cards are dealt face up in the middle of the table. The faced-up cards are also called the “community cards”. Every player is free to use these cards to build a 5-card poker hand. The 5-community cards are being dealt with in 3 stages:

  • The turn. It is the first 3 community cards.
  • The flop. It is the fourth community card.
  • The river. It is the fifth and final community card.

The player has the mission to construct a 5-card poker hand using the 5 cards out of the 7 total cards. These 7 total cards are composed of the five community cards and the two hole cards. It can be done by using both combinations of cards:

  • Hole cards in combination with the 3 community cards
  • One hold card in combination with the 4 community cards

Once the cards on the table lead a good combination, all five community cards can be played. In this poker game, a player should make the best 5-card hand. When it happens that one player folds in the betting, the only remaining player wins the pot cash without the need to show any card.

Players don’t have to always fold the best hand just to win the pot. It is possible for a player to bluff and get others to fold good poker hands.
